75 % polyamid, 15 % aramid (Kevlar®) 10 % elastan Kevlar®, tråd baseret på aramidfibre er utroligt riv- og slidstærk og vejer i sig selv ikke meget. Stof af Kevlar® finder anvendelse alle steder, hvor der er behov for robust beklædning. Kunstfibrene anvendes blandt andet til bygning af flyvemaskiner, skudsikre veste og beskyttelsesudstyr.
Kevlarstof er ikke brændbart og har en nedbrydningstemperatur på ca. 430 °C.
